Eichelmann 2026

Thank you for the 3.5-star rating of our wines: “The 2024 GL Rieslings are now being vinified with extended lees aging and were therefore not yet bottled at the time of our tastings – we will taste them next year. With the exception of the 2023 Riesling Kirchenstück Réserve, this year's top wines are missing. The wine shows fine oak spice, a touch of coconut, herbal notes, and restrained fruit. It has power and distinct saline notes, but overall still seems very young and compact and could improve. The Pinot Noir also seems young, with youthful tannins, clear cherry fruit, a delicate minty freshness, and good length. Following this are five more very good wines. The Grüner Veltliner is new to the range and shows some pear, apricot, and light tobacco in its bouquet. It is juicy, fresh, and slightly peppery. The Sauvignon Blanc Fumé is characterized by aromas of smoke, roasted hazelnuts, and yellow gooseberries. The Riesling Pechstein, from the regular single-vineyard wine line, shows smoky-herbal notes and pineapple, has grip and some tobacco spice; the Riesling Ungeheuer is restrained in the bouquet, but has clear yellow fruit and grip on the palate; and the Riesling Jesuitengarten shows the most pronounced fruit, pineapple, apricot, is full-bodied and juicy.

VINUM wine guide Germany 2026

We are delighted to receive another 3 stars in the VINUM Wine Guide Germany 2026: “Stephan Müller has decided to take an intermediate step with his top wines and will only present the Grand Cru wines from 2024 next year. A wise decision, as this gave us the opportunity to revisit the Grand Cru wines from Kirchenstück and Jesuitengarten from the 2023 vintage. The Kirchenstück proved to be the undisputed leader of the pack, while the Jesuitengarten Riesling has shed some of its primary fruitiness from last year and now displays a more direct expression of its terroir – which makes it even better. New to us was the Kirchenstück Réserve with a beautifully full mouthfeel and a subsequent, rather ethereal finish. This should be really interesting in five years. Otherwise, we see a well-made, typical Grüner Veltliner. Notable, and therefore positive, are the differences between the second-tier Rieslings. Pechstein and Ungeheuer are much closer in their juiciness with beautiful acidity than the dense, long, and intensive Jesuitengarten."

Falstaff Wine Guide Germany 2026

Thank you for the 3 stars and the excellent rating of our wines in Falstaff. "The compact and mineral 'GL Réserve' from the Kirchenstück vineyard not only leads the strong collection of the Eugen Müller winery, but also offers a glimpse into what may be possible in the future: It is a Riesling that will still demonstrate the greatness of the site decades from now. Stephan Müller has been cultivating the 17 hectares in the best Forster vineyards since 2023 according to the Fair'n Green guidelines. The future will be shaped by his daughter Jana, who completed her studies in Geisenheim and is partly responsible for the successful Grüner Veltliner – our Falstaff recommendation."
